Dr Bernard Tan

Medical Director

MBBS (Singapore), MRCS (UK), DOHNS (UK)
Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM)

Dr Bernard Tan graduated from the National University of Singapore’s Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine on the Dean’s List, placing among the top 10 graduates in his cohort. He was awarded the Gold Medal in Orthopaedic Surgery and the Book Prize in General Surgery for outstanding academic performance. During his years in public service, Dr Tan refined his clinical and procedural skills in the surgical departments of Singapore’s busiest restructured hospitals, earning commendations such as the SGH Service with a Heart Award and the SAF Resuscitation Award (“One Life Saved Award”).

A Keen Eye for Beauty

With steady hands and an innate aesthetic sensibility, Aesthetic Medicine became a natural extension of Dr Tan’s surgical background. He has completed extensive Certificates of Competency in aesthetic procedures including botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, pigment lasers, ablative and non-ablative fractional lasers, IPL, body contouring, and energy-based technologies. His training culminated in a Certificate in Aesthetic Medicine from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr Tan also holds a Diploma in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery (DOHNS) from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and is a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (UK). With more than ten peer-reviewed publications and multiple research awards, he has presented internationally and is recognised for his academic contributions. Sciton Inc. (USA) appointed Dr Tan as Singapore’s Key Opinion Leader and Trainer for BBL HERO and MOXI Laser, and he continues to train local and international doctors through workshops.

Medical Weight Loss & Lifestyle Medicine

In addition to aesthetics, Dr Tan has a strong interest in medical weight management and metabolic health. He provides evidence-based, medically supervised weight-loss programmes using prescription therapies such as GLP-1 weight loss injections and metabolic optimisation strategies. His approach integrates structured nutrition advice, sustainable lifestyle adjustments, and personalised monitoring. Dr Tan’s goal is to help patients achieve safe, lasting weight loss while improving energy levels, cardiovascular health, and overall well-being.

Weight Loss in Men

Dr Tan is also dedicated to addressing the unique weight-management challenges faced by men. Factors such as visceral fat accumulation, declining testosterone levels, metabolic slowdown, stress, and demanding work schedules often hinder men’s ability to lose weight effectively. With a deep understanding of male physiology and metabolic patterns, Dr Tan develops treatment plans tailored specifically to men’s needs—whether the goal is fat reduction, improved muscle definition, enhanced metabolic function, or better long-term health. His structured, results-driven approach helps male patients achieve measurable improvements in both physique and confidence.

A “Less Is More” Philosophy

Patients appreciate Dr Tan not only for his precision and expertise, but also for his calm and reassuring presence. His guiding philosophy is to “enhance natural beauty with minimal interventions,” favouring subtle, harmonious improvements over exaggerated change. This approach enables his patients to look rejuvenated and refreshed—never “overdone.”

Outside of clinic, Dr Tan enjoys cooking, fishing, and keeping active in his leisure time.

COVID-19 Resilience Medal

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Tan volunteered for frontline duty at the NCID Screening Centre and Tan Tock Seng Hospital during the Circuit Breaker period of April–June 2020. Working 5–6 shifts weekly, he attended to 15–20 suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases per shift. His scope included caring for critically ill patients requiring resuscitation, despite the high exposure risk and the absence of vaccines at the time. Several colleagues developed COVID-19 during this period, underscoring the bravery required of frontline workers. For his commitment and service, Dr Tan was awarded the COVID-19 Resilience Medal.
